After repeatedly escaping from her orphanage, 17-year-old Olka (Zofia Domalik) is placed in a youth detention centre. With bitten fingernails and scarred arms, Olka has her troubles, yet she is not interested in flashy clothes or bribing guards for cigarette breaks, like the other girls. Instead, she is focused on one thing: to find her mother again. The debut feature of Małgorzata Imielska, All For My Mother is a difficult but brutally honest examination of family bonds. The film – our special Mother’s Day screening – took home awards at the Gdynia Polish Film Festival and Warsaw Film Festival.
